You've died many times already

11 January 2026

Yes, you've died many times already. That sounds strange, but I can explain it to you.

As I mentioned, your consciousness frequently shifts between different realities during

the day and night. The thing is, you very rarely notice this yourself. Your focus, your

point of immediate attention, keeps shifting to a neighboring reality. It's so slightly

different from your usual everyday reality that you can land in a slightly different one

in the blink of an eye. As soon as you arrive there, your memories are immediately

reconfigured and updated. This process happens in the blink of an eye.

Now, the thing is, your total self is able to maneuver you through these realities because

you're not yet able to do so consciously and independently. Thus, your total self also

determines when "you" die, or rather, when your body dies.

If you're driving at night and you fall asleep at the wheel, then you hurtle down a cliff and

die, then that was the end of your life. Or you might suddenly wake up in bed and have

dreamt that you were driving down a cliff.

You now have a gap in your consciousness, meaning there's a gap between the moment

you were sitting in the car and the moment you're suddenly lying in bed. But as soon as

you wake up in bed, your memory is immediately refreshed, and you remember getting into

bed last night, what you ate, and which movie you watched to end the evening. The car

ride may even have actually happened, but your memory is refreshed here as well, and

you'll remember how you arrived home safely and without incident.

This example is meant to demonstrate how memories can be accessed at will. This can

involve small, everyday occurrences or major events, like a car accident.

Remember: How often have you dreamt that you died, had an accident, or something

else happened that ended your life? That wasn't a dream; it really happened. Your

subconscious mind simply decided that you shouldn't yet acknowledge that particular

death.

And I haven't even mentioned that it's possible you can't remember yesterday at all, not

as it actually unfolded. The memory of the car ride might be erased, and then you weren't

even driving; you spent the whole day at home. The memory is simply replayed, and you'll

be utterly convinced that it happened that way.

So, you've already died many times.
